Crunches – Sit on the floor and ensure your thighs and upper body form a V shape. Your lower legs should be crossed and lifted. Then hold a 5 pound medicine ball and twist from side to side. This is a very solid exercise to do as long as you ensure that you maintain that V shape.

Low stomach leg reach – In this particular exercise we need you to lie on the floor, face up. Keep your knees at a 90 degree angle, hands supporting your head and contract your abdominal muscles. You must make sure that you keep your knees stacked over your hips when you begin. You then need to proceed to lift your shoulders and perform the crunch. Aim to hold this pose for around 4-6 seconds per rep.

Vertical leg crunch – In this exercise you must lie on the mat with your legs raised into the air. Keep your knees crossed and support your head with your hands. Then contract your abs, lift your shoulders off the floor and hold your legs in that position throughout the crunch.
